How does the dead person live in the grave, and do his senses and faculties return to him, and what is the duration of that life of his, and what is the fate of those whose bodies are cremated, and where will they be questioned?

A believer must affirm all that has been revealed in the Quran and the authentic Sunnah regarding the Hereafter, the torment and bliss of the grave, for Allah and His Messenger are the most truthful in speech. Life in the grave is a special, transitional (barzakhiyya) existence, unlike life in this world. The deceased will be questioned in their grave about their Lord, their religion, and their Prophet. The believer will answer correctly, and a door to Paradise will be opened for them, allowing them to see their place therein. As for the disbeliever, they will falter in their answer, be struck, and a door to Hellfire will be opened for them, and their grave will be constricted upon them. The torment and bliss in the grave affect both the soul and the body. Even those who die by drowning or burning will receive their share of this, although most of the bliss and torment fall upon the soul. The soul of the believer will be in Paradise, and the soul of the disbeliever will go to Hellfire. It is incumbent upon every Muslim to feel at ease and affirm what Allah and His Messenger have informed, even if some of the meaning remains obscure to them.
