Is a woman sinful if she removes her jilbab in Western countries and works, while remaining committed to the hijab, despite her conviction that the jilbab is more modest?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A woman is obliged to cover her body and not display her adornment to foreign men, and to wear the hijab if it fulfills the Sharia conditions; there is no harm in that. A woman's staying in her home is better for her than working if she is not compelled to do so. If she wishes to work, it is conditioned upon the availability of the requirements mentioned in Fatwa no. 45029.
