What is the ruling on a woman removing her hijab when compelled to do so to attend to her affairs, especially at work?

The hijab is a firm obligation unequivocally established by Islamic law, and it is not permissible to be lenient with it or to prohibit it. A woman should not go out uncovered except for a necessity that permits what is otherwise forbidden, such as being summoned by the police. It is not permissible for her to go out to work without needing it if doing so entails removing her hijab. Muslims must cooperate to provide for women so that they are not compelled to go out, and men must realize their responsibility towards their families and spread awareness of the obligation of the hijab. For a woman who is compelled to go out and her work only requires uncovering her face, there is no blame upon her, Allah willing. And serious efforts must be made to solve this problem by advising officials and clarifying that the hijab is an obligation.
