Does the conversion to Islam of a Christian wife married to a Christian man constitute a divorce and separation between them, and what are the correct legal procedures that must be followed?

If a woman embraces Islam and her husband is a disbeliever, they are to be separated, and it is not permissible for her to live with him. However, if the husband embraces Islam before the expiry of her 'iddah (waiting period), she remains with him. If there is an issue with the separation, she should refer to the Sharia court, and she must not return to him as long as he remains in his disbelief. She should be encouraged towards Islam by clarifying its virtues and the attainment of Paradise, and that Allah may replace him with a better husband for her.
