Should a married woman who has converted to Islam divorce her husband, and if so, how and where is that done?

A woman is not obligated to inform her husband of her intention to embrace Islam. If she converts to Islam, her marriage contract with him is annulled, unless he has already divorced her, and she must separate from him. If her husband converts to Islam during her iddah (waiting period), she returns to him. Otherwise, she may marry whomever she wishes after the iddah expires. Attention must be paid to the legal ramifications of her new marriage before her first marriage is officially invalidated. Furthermore, takhbib (corrupting a wife against her husband) is forbidden in Islam.
