The answer

Drinking alcohol is one of the gravest major sins. Allah Almighty has forbidden it in His Book and through the tongue of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing to] stone altars for idols, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful." Alcohol impairs the mind and damages the liver, and its consumption leads to many tangible and intangible harms. Whoever drinks it must hasten to sincere repentance and cease from it. Sincere repentance erases sins and replaces bad deeds with good ones.
