What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a husband's psychological abuse of his wife after he promised not to divorce her, then broke his promise under pressure from family and friends?

The husband must fulfill his promise not to divorce, and consider the feelings of the second wife, not divorcing her due to pressure from the first wife or the family. The first wife does not have the right to demand divorce because her husband married another, nor does she have the right to prevent him from seeing his children. It would have been more appropriate for the family to urge the husband to keep both wives, but if they see that divorcing the second wife is the lesser harm compared to the harm of family dispersion due to divorcing the first wife, then their suggestion would be valid. If divorce occurs, Allah will not abandon the woman, for He, Glorified be He, says: (But if they separate [by divorce], Allah will enrich each of them from His abundance. And ever is Allah all-Encompassing and Wise).
