The answer

Forbidden singing that includes musical instruments and entertainment devices must be rejected. There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. Islamic anthems may be performed, and the tambourine (daf) may be used by both men and women with good words. A woman should not reject a suitor because he approves of forbidden singing, for committing sins generally does not prevent accepting a person as a spouse. However, both spouses should be advised to adhere to what pleases Allah.
