The major and minor signs of the Hour were previously explained in Fatwas: 32561 and 30268. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wishing for death, saying: "None of you should wish for death. If he is a doer of good, perhaps he will increase in good deeds, and if he is a doer of evil, perhaps he will repent." He also said: "None of you should wish for death due to some harm that has befallen him. If he must do so, then let him say: 'O Allah, keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and cause me to die if death is better for me.'" Therefore, a Muslim should not ask for death or wish for it.
