Is placing money to contribute to building a mosque considered an ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah)?

Indeed, spending money on building mosques is one of the greatest acts of devotion and an ongoing charity (Sadaqah (definition) Jariyah) whose reward reaches the Muslim after their death. This is based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "When a human being dies, all of his deeds are cut off except for three: an ongoing charity, knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a righteous child who prays for him." And also his saying: "Whoever builds a mosque seeking thereby the face of Allah, Allah will build for him a similar house in Paradise."
