Is it legislated for someone who has committed a sin to give charity afterward?

Voluntary charity (Sadaqat al-Tatawwu') is a confirmed Sunnah (definition) at all times. A Muslim must immediately repent from sin. If the sin involves the right of another human being, then the right must be restored or forgiveness sought. There is no harm in giving charity after every sin, based on the Almighty's saying: (Indeed, good deeds do away with ill deeds), and His saying: (If you disclose your charitable expenditures, it is well; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you, and He will remove from you [some of] your ill deeds). And based on the hadith (definition): (Follow up a bad deed with a good deed, it will erase it). Charity extinguishes sin just as water extinguishes fire. It is recommended to give charity as an expression of gratitude for blessings or after committing a sin.
