How is it possible to reconcile two female colleagues who have been quarreling for a long time, while avoiding direct confrontation, in order to attain the reward for reconciliation?

Reconciling people is among the noblest of virtues and is superior to voluntary fasting, prayer, and charity. Islamic law permits lying in this context to convey praise and commendation between disputing parties. Furthermore, estrangement among Muslims is forbidden. The Quran and Sunnah (definition) have encouraged avoiding disputes and holding fast to the rope of Allah. Ahadith have forbidden estrangement for more than three days and have clarified that estrangement delays forgiveness. Those who seek to reconcile should remind the disputing parties of these texts and urge them to abandon division and discord.
