What is the ruling on the wages earned from working in a café that sells cigarettes, if their sale is a specific activity of the owner and not part of the café's main income, knowing that the worker is the one who handles the affairs of both the café and the cigarettes?

Smoking cigarettes, trading them, and promoting them are forbidden (haram (definition)) because they are among the impure things (khaba'ith) and their harm has been established. Everything whose harm has been established, its prohibition has also been established. Allah Almighty said: "and He makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the impure things." (Al-A'raf: 157). Whoever works in selling them must repent by abandoning the work, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it, and by getting rid of the earned wages. And whoever has traded in them must dispose of their money, because when Allah forbids a thing, He also forbids its price.
