Is it permissible for a portion of the Udhiyah (sacrifice - a calf) to be for someone who does not wish to sacrifice it for himself, but rather for his household?

For a cow to be slaughtered as an Udhiyah (definition) (sacrifice), it must be two years old or more. According to the Hanbalis and Shafi'is, seven people may share in the sacrifice of a cow or a camel, whether all of them intend the Udhiyah, or some intend the Udhiyah and others intend only the meat. They based this on the Hadith (definition) of Jabir, who said that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded sharing in camels and cows, with seven people per camel. As for Abu Hanifa, he permits sharing only for those who intend to draw closer to Allah (by offering the sacrifice), and Malik does not permit sharing at all.
