Who wrote the Qur’an and how was it compiled?

Allah Himself guaranteed the preservation of the Holy Quran. It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in parts. The Arabs memorized the Quran in their hearts and wrote it on simple materials. Initially, the Prophet forbade writing anything other than the Quran to ensure its preservation and prevent its mixing. The scribes of revelation undertook the task of transcribing the Quran, which was revealed in seven ahruf (modes of recitation). After the Prophet's death, the Quran was compiled into a single Mushaf (definition) during the caliphate of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, fearing its loss with the passing of those who had memorized it. Then, during the caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan, the Ummah was unified upon a single Mushaf in the language of Quraysh to avoid disagreements in readings, and this is part of Allah's preservation of His Book.
