The answer

It is not permissible for a person in a state of minor ritual impurity (muhdith) to touch a complete without a barrier, according to the majority of jurists, based on the letter of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to the people of Yemen: "No one should touch the Qur’an except one who is ritually pure." This ruling also applies to parts of the Mushaf. However, the Malikis permitted a teacher and a student to touch the Mushaf or its parts while in a state of impurity for the purpose of teaching, memorizing, and studying, but not for devotional recitation, to facilitate matters and remove hardship. A person who needs to read can do so from a Mushaf that includes a (exegesis) or from digital devices.
