The answer

If gelatin is extracted from a permissible animal slaughtered according to Islamic law, then there is no objection to using the medication. However, if it is extracted from an impure animal, such as a pig, or from a permissible animal that was not slaughtered according to Islamic law, then it is not permissible to use the medication because it contains an impurity, unless one is compelled to use it due to hardship in not taking it, and there is no alternative free from impurities, as Allah Almighty says: "And He has already explained to you what He has forbidden to you, except for that to which you are compelled."
