The question

Does the prayer become invalid if the congregant, upon rising from bowing, only says "Sami' Allah" and then completes it with "Rabbana wa laka al-hamd" without performing the prostration of forgetfulness, given that he had missed one rak'ah? And does it become invalid if the congregant recites Al-Fatiha with the Imam, then pauses and recites it again after saying "Amin," without performing the prostration of forgetfulness?

The answer

The worshiper (Ma'mum) does not perform the prostration of forgetfulness ( al-Sahw) if he forgets something without his Imam forgetting it. Repeating Al-Fatiha after saying "Ameen" is permissible and does not necessitate the prostration of forgetfulness.
