Is it permissible for me to perform 'Umrah while currently having debts that I am unable to repay?

There is no objection to accepting the offer to go for 'Umrah (definition) at the brother's expense, provided that a mahram (definition) (unmarriageable kin) accompanies her. This nullifies the obligation of 'Umrah and earns reward. Debt does not prevent 'Umrah unless the debtor is affluent and the debt is due. However, a debt owed by an indigent person or a deferred debt does not prevent it. For a deferred debt, it is recommended to appoint someone to repay it when it becomes due. It is advisable to accept this offer, as it is a provision facilitated by Allah.
