Is it obligatory to inform the wife's family before the marriage contract about certain non-communicable or hereditary diseases, and is the wife entitled to seek divorce (khul') because of them?

The majority of scholars hold that defects warranting annulment are those that prevent sexual intercourse, or are repulsive and contagious diseases. Some scholars are of the view that any defect causing aversion in either spouse necessitates annulment. The fatwa (definition)-backed opinion is that of the majority; therefore, you are not obligated to inform the woman you wish to marry about your back pain, varicocele, or the anemia you have recovered from. Your wife does not have the right to annul the marriage if she discovers these defects. However, she may seek a khul‘ (divorce at the wife's instance) if she is not content with these defects. Honesty and clarity between the prospective spouses are preferable.
