What is the ruling on giving a disbeliever a copy of the Qur'an written in the letters of another language (such as English) and touching it, and is its ruling the same as that of a normal Mus'haf?

It is impermissible to write the Qur’an in non-Arabic letters, because scholars have unanimously agreed on the obligation to preserve the Uthmani script. Moreover, writing it in non-Arabic letters may lead to the distortion and alteration of the Qur’an. Also, Latin letters do not convey all that Arabic letters convey, which leads to inaccuracy and distortion in its pronunciation and a change in its meaning. The Companions and those who followed them until this day have agreed on writing the Qur’an in Arabic letters. Opening the door to writing it in non-Arabic letters may lead to its distortion, as happened to previous scriptures. Therefore, it must be prohibited to safeguard the Qur’an. As for copies written in Latin letters, they do not take the ruling of the Qur’an, for the Qur’an is both the wording and the meaning together.
