What are the names of the angels and what are their duties?

The angels have names and duties assigned to them. They do not disobey Allah and they do what they are commanded. Among them is Jibreel, entrusted with revelation; Mika'il, with rain; Israfeel, with blowing the Trumpet; and the Angel of Death, with seizing souls (the name Azrael has not been authentically attributed to him). Among them are the noble Scribes who record and preserve the deeds of people, and the angels who alternate shifts by night and day, and the roving angels who seek out gatherings of remembrance, and those assigned to protect a person, and those assigned to the trial of the grave (Munkar and Nakeer), and the guardians of Paradise (foremost among them is Ridwan), and the guardians of Hellfire (foremost among them is Malik).
