Is it the case that one who recites Surat al-Ikhlas during the night vigil prayer attains the reward of building a palace in Paradise for every ten times, and the reward of completing the entire Quran for every three times, or is this virtue limited to reciting it outside of prayer?

We have clarified the authenticity of the hadith concerning the building of a palace in Paradise for whoever recites Surat Al-Ikhlas ten times, and this is general, encompassing recitation inside and outside of prayer. However, repeating it in a single rak'ah is considered disliked by some jurists because it is not from the Sunnah nor from the practice of the Pious Predecessors (Salaf). Al-Wansharisi, in "Al-Mi'yar Al-Mu'rib," transmitted the dislike of repeating the same surah in a single rak'ah, stating that recitation was not legislated in this manner, and because singling out a part of the Quran for a specific act of worship is an unproven opinion. He mentioned the dislike of Sufyan and Malik for this practice, and that Malik considered it among the innovated matters, lest it be believed that the reward for reciting the entire Quran is equivalent to the reward for reciting Al-Ikhlas three times. The meaning of "it equals one-third of the Quran" is that it has the reward of one-third of a complete recitation of the Quran, not that its recitation alone equals one-third of a complete recitation. Scholars have unanimously agreed that reciting it three times does not equal the reward of a complete recitation.
