What is the reward for teaching the Arabic language, and have there been any Hadith narrated about its فضائل (virtues), and what is the ruling if someone refuses to teach it to me?

It suffices to demonstrate the virtue of the Arabic language that it is the language of the miraculous and eternal Holy Quran, which Allah chose as the vessel for His Book, as stated in His saying, the Almighty: (A Quran in Arabic, without any crookedness, that they may become righteous). And Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah described the Arabic tongue as "the شعار (emblem/distinguishing mark) of Islam and its people."

Once this virtue is clear, the status of the Arabic language teacher becomes manifest, for he is:

1. A means to spread virtue and to teach the vessel of the Holy Quran, which Allah has chosen. 2. Contributes to preserving and understanding the Holy Quran and the noble Prophetic Hadith, and acting upon them. 3. A direct cause for spreading Islamic sciences and religious culture, for whoever helps in understanding them has helped in understanding Islam and spreading good. 4. Contributes to transferring Islamic culture to those who speak other languages. 5. Has a reward similar to that of those who learn Arabic and benefit from it, according to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: (Whoever points to good, he shall have a reward similar to that of its doer). And whoever refrains from teaching it has deprived himself of this great reward.
