Is it permissible to eat the meat of Europeans if no halal meat is available except chicken in a region of Germany, and does the slaughtering of pork by some companies affect the ruling on eating other meats?

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that the food of the People of the Book is lawful for us, except for what we know with certainty to be forbidden, like pork. He also stated that we are not to inquire about the method of slaughtering what comes to us from those whose slaughtered animals are permissible. As for meats that are inherently forbidden or forbidden due to their method of slaughter, they are not permissible except in a dire necessity that leads to destruction or its proximity, and mere need is not sufficient. He mentioned that a pregnant wife's need for meat does not permit her to eat forbidden meats, unless it reaches the level of necessity that would lead to the loss of her life or its near approach.
