The answer

The majority of scholars hold that missed prayers must be made up immediately, as much as one is able. A Muslim can make up at least two days' worth of prayers in a single day. It is permissible to limit making up prayers to just one day's worth if making up more would affect the livelihood of one's dependents. It is not permissible to stop making up missed prayers for a full day without an excuse. However, it is permissible to pause the make-up prayers for a few hours and then resume them on the same day, provided that this does not constitute negligence.
