The question

Is it permissible to make up missed prayers in various ways, such as making up two missed prayers with each obligatory prayer, or making up one missed prayer? And does the text "And the method of making up missed prayers is to pray each day, in addition to the five present prayers, as much as you are able, at any hour of the night or day" mean making up the five prayers together and then repeating them? And can missed prayers be made up at any time of the night or day?

The answer

"One who is making up missed prayers should strive to do them in order, but if they do not observe the order, it is still valid. It is obligatory to make up what can be made up daily without hardship or harm. The Malikis hold that if the missed prayers are numerous, it is sufficient to make up two days' worth of prayers with each day. It is permissible to make up missed prayers at any time, even during the prohibited times, according to the majority of scholars."
