Does the emission of semen necessitate Ghusl (ritual bath), whether it be due to a wet dream or masturbation, even if it does not touch the clothes?

Ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) becomes obligatory for someone who experiences a wet dream if they are certain that semen has exited, and likewise if it exits due to masturbation. This is based on the statement of Imam Ibn Qudamah: "The gushing discharge of semen with desire necessitates ghusl for both men and women, whether in a waking state or in sleep. This is the view of the majority of jurists." There is no connection between semen touching clothes and the obligation of ghusl; rather, ghusl becomes obligatory simply upon the exit of semen.
