What should be said first after ablution: the two Shahadas or "Ghufranak" (Your forgiveness)? And what is the specified duration for saying "Ghufranak" after ablution?

The saying "Ghufranak" (I seek Your forgiveness) after relieving oneself is a Sunnah (prophetic tradition) and not obligatory. The prescribed dhikr (remembrance of Allah) after ablution (wudu') is also a Sunnah. Remembering Allah inside the lavatory is disliked (makrooh). If you exit, say "Ghufranak" and then perform the prescribed dhikr after ablution. There is no mention from scholars regarding which of these takes precedence. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas stated that it is disliked to mention Allah's name in bathrooms, and the Shahada (declaration of faith) is not prescribed while pouring water for ghusl (ritual bath) to remove Janaba (major ritual impurity). Rather, it is sunnah to seek refuge in Allah from evil male and female jinn before entering by saying "Ghufranak," and after completing the ghusl and exiting the bathroom, to perform the dhikr of ablution. Supplications tied to specific reasons become void if the reason passes; therefore, if you forget to say "Ghufranak" and do not remember it until after a long time, it becomes void and does not need to be made up.
