Is it obligatory for a girl to inform her fiancé about a birth defect in her ear that prevents her from hearing well with it, given her fear of him refusing to marry her so close to the wedding date, or is the fact that this defect is not noticeable in daily interactions sufficient to waive the need for disclosure?

The suitor must be informed about what the girl suffers from in one of her ears, so that he is fully aware of the situation, because not informing him is considered deceit. If the husband later discovers that his wife does not hear well in one of her ears and did not inform him of that, he may consider it deceit and resent his wife. Therefore, it is necessary to inform him now to ensure the continuity of the marriage and avoid problems. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas has issued a fatwa stating the obligation to inform the suitor of any defects or illnesses in the fiancée, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "(He who deceives us is not of us)."
