Is a girl considered sinful for completely refusing marriage for fear of not being able to safeguard her religion, due to what she has read about the immense rights of the husband in Islam?

There is no sin upon one who abstains from marriage if they do not fear falling into the unlawful. However, if they fear that, then marriage becomes obligatory for them if it is feasible. Thus, marriage is obligatory for whoever fears committing unlawful sexual acts by not marrying. Marriage is religiously recommended due to its great benefits, and it is from the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Celibacy is not part of Islam; rather, marriage is the Sunnah of the Prophets and Messengers. The responsibilities of marriage do not justify abstaining from it, for every person is a guardian and responsible. The wife also has responsibilities, and in return, she has rights and benefits. Guardianship (Qawamah) means the care for religious and worldly interests with mercy and kindness. The basis of the marital relationship is affection and mercy. Therefore, it is advised to accept whoever you are pleased with in terms of their religiosity and character.
