Is a woman sinful and her job unlawful if she works in a mixed-gender work environment where she adheres to the Islamic conditions, while some colleagues do not, assuming there is no fear of temptation? And does the ruling differ if she is compelled to work due to the scarcity of non-mixed work opportunities?

If a woman feels secure from temptation and adheres to the Sharia-compliant regulations in her work, then there is no harm upon her. She should offer advice and guidance whenever possible. Efforts should be made to find a righteous work environment. The prohibition of working in places of immorality is a legal ruling for clear benefits. A state of necessity permits prohibitions, but it is to be estimated according to its extent, based on His (the Almighty’s) saying: "And He has already explained to you in detail what He has forbidden to you, except what you are compelled to [eat]" and His saying: "But whoever is compelled, neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him."
