Is it permissible to wear a cotton ihram that is worn like trousers and has some threads in Umrah?

The pilgrim in a state of ihram is prohibited from wearing tailored garments that fit the body or a part of it, such as a shirt or trousers. It is prescribed to enter ihram in a rida' (upper garment) and an izar (lower garment). Scholars have differed regarding a sewn izar, with two opinions: permission, as it does not resemble a shirt or trousers; and prohibition, as it is considered to be in the meaning of a sewn garment. The latter is the fatwa of some scholars and the decision of the Council of Senior Scholars. Given the significant disagreement, one should avoid this type of izar, acting upon the hadith: "Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt."
