I want to perform Umrah but I have a chronic health excuse that prevents me from wearing Ihram from the Miqat, and it requires wearing specific stitched clothes. Can I wear the Ihram over these clothes from the Miqat until I reach the Haram, then remove it to perform Umrah, as I can only tolerate the Ihram for a short period?

Praise be to Allah, the muhrim (one in the state of ihram) is prohibited from wearing sewn clothes tailored to the body or its parts, and this ruling is specific to males, excluding females. However, if the muhrim needs to wear sewn clothes due to an excuse such as illness, it is permissible for him with the requirement of a fidya (compensatory sacrifice), and he has the choice between: slaughtering a sacrificial animal, feeding six needy persons, or fasting three days. Some jurists have argued that wearing sewn clothes to cover the private parts or to protect from impurity is exempt from the obligation of fidya.
