The answer

The full brother inherits in the absence of the father and in the absence of a male lineal descendant. The half-brother from the father's side inherits under the aforementioned conditions, in addition to the absence of a full brother. Both inherit by ta‘sib (as residuaries) – meaning they take what remains after the ashab al-furud (sharers) have taken their shares, or all the wealth if there are no sharers. The grandfather is treated like the brother in inheritance. As for the half-brother from the mother's side, he inherits one-sixth, under the conditions that there is no male ascendant heir and no lineal descendant whatsoever.
