Must Qur'ans be covered in a room?

Mushafs (copies of the Holy Quran) should be placed in a clean and appropriate location as a sign of veneration. They should not be covered, as not covering them does not contradict showing respect. Rather, Muslims have unanimously agreed on the obligation to protect and revere them. It is desirable to perfume them and honor them by placing them on a stand or in a high place. The Mushaf should be kept away from underwear.
