The answer

Whoever performs 'Umrah with the intention of performing Hajj (mutamatti') is obligated to offer a sacrifice (hady). If he cannot find one, then he must fast three days during Hajj and seven when he returns to his family, as Allah the Almighty says: (But whoever cannot find [one] – then a fast of three days during Hajj and seven when you have returned [home]). It is recommended to fast the three days between entering into ihram for Hajj and the Day of 'Arafah, and it is permissible to fast them from the time of entering into ihram for 'Umrah or during the days of Mina.
