Is it permissible to deal with a person who claims knowledge of the People of the Book to nullify magic, after he requested money and incense, and what is the ruling on this act in Islam?

The evil eye and magic are real, and it is prescribed to protect oneself from them by consistently reciting the prescribed remembrances (adhkar) and supplications (ta'awwudhat). Lawful Ruqyah is permissible for anyone who suspects they have been afflicted, in order to repel harm. It is advisable to stay away from charlatans and imposters. It is permissible to pay a lawful reciter (raqi) for Ruqyah. One must stay away from those who claim to heal with incense or use incomprehensible utterances, as they may involve polytheistic practices (shirk). It is recommended to recite Surat Al-Baqarah every three nights, and to consistently recite Al-Ikhlas, Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Al-Falaq and An-Nas), Ayah Al-Kursiyy, and the concluding verses of Surat Al-Baqarah. One should also adhere to obligatory prayers and purify the home from sins.
