The answer

If bonuses are part of employees' wages by virtue of the employment contract, then they are their right. It is not permissible to take anything from them except with their willing consent, for Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, do not consume one another's property unlawfully," and for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "The property of a Muslim person is not lawful [to take] except with his willing consent," and "The whole of a Muslim is sacred to another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honor," and "Whoever unlawfully takes the property of a Muslim person will meet Allah Almighty while He is angry with him."
