The answer

"Suhoor" refers to food and drink consumed in the last part of the night, and it is named as such because it is eaten at the time of "sahar" (pre-dawn). Many prophetic traditions (hadiths) have been narrated that encourage suhoor and explain its virtue and blessings. Among these are that it contains blessings, that it distinguishes the fasting of Muslims from the fasting of the People of the Book, and that Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who partake in suhoor. Suhoor is intended as food for the fasting person to strengthen them for the fast and make it easier for them. Scholars have unanimously agreed that suhoor is recommended (mustahabb) and not obligatory (wajib). The blessings in suhoor manifest in various ways, including: following the Sunnah, distinguishing oneself from the People of the Book, gaining strength for worship, increased activity, and preventing bad temper resulting from hunger. Suhoor is recommended only for the fasting person, and we are not aware of any scholar who said it is recommended for someone who is not fasting.
