When does the deceased visit his family?

The question could have two meanings:

- The deceased visiting their family: There is no evidence from revelation or any statement from scholars indicating that the deceased visits their family in this world. The life in the Barzakh (interim realm) is among the unseen matters that can only be known through revelation.

- The family visiting their deceased: This is commendable without a specific limit, according to many scholars. Some scholars consider it more virtuous on Fridays and Thursdays. There is no difference in this regard between the family of the deceased and others. Some scholars have restricted the permissibility of visiting to men, while others have considered it to include both men and women.
