What is the ruling on believing that every handsome man is a homosexual, and what is the ruling on likening a man to a female or vice versa, and what is the punishment for the perpetrator of that?
Connecting handsomeness with deviance is a false belief and a forbidden ill-suspicion. Joseph (peace be upon him) was given half of all beauty and an equal measure of chastity. As for applying cosmetics to male images to make them appear female, it is a disgraceful and forbidden act. Its prohibition is intensified when done with the intention of mockery, falsehood, and slander. Accusing people of what is not in them is a great sin. Allah the Almighty says: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne slander and manifest sin."
