Why were lying, sleeping through the prescribed prayer, adultery, and usury—which the Prophet, peace be upon him, saw in his dream—classified under the torment of the grave and not the torment of the Hereafter?

This hadith (definition), narrated by Al-Bukhari, describes the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) vision of the torment of some disobedient people in Al-Barzakh (definition) before the Day of Judgment, such as the liar, the one who abandons the Quran, the fornicators, and those who consume usury. Scholars, such as Ibn Hajar and Al-Bayhaqi, have stipulated that this torment occurs during the period of Al-Barzakh.
