What is the significance and purpose of circumambulating the Kaaba, and why was the Kaaba placed to the left of the circumambulator? Is circumambulation only performed in Mecca, or does it also take place daily?

The main reason for making the Kaaba on the left side of the circumambulator and circling around it is to follow the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as Allah Almighty commanded: "And obey the Messenger that you may obtain mercy," and "Say, 'If you should love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you.'" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Take your rituals from me." This is sufficient reason for a Muslim, without the need to link it to the movement of celestial bodies or planets. A Muslim believes, submits, and implements what has been authentically reported from the Messenger. This circumambulation is specific to the Kaaba and is not performed as an act of worship elsewhere.
