Should the missed prayers be made up after forty days of postnatal bleeding due to ignorance, and is it obligatory to perform ghusl upon the cessation of istihaadah bleeding?

The duration of postpartum bleeding (nifas) and scholarly opinions regarding it have been previously determined. The maximum duration of nifas is forty days according to the majority of scholars. If the bleeding exceeds this period, one must make up the prayers for the extra week. As for ghusl (ritual bath) from istihaadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding), it is not obligatory, but rather recommended, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement to Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh: "That is only a vein, and not menstruation. So, when your menstruation comes, leave prayer, and when it goes, wash the blood from yourself and pray."
