Is a wife considered irrevocably divorced by three pronouncements if she goes to her family's house after her husband said to her during a quarrel: "If you go to your family's house at any time, you will remain irrevocably divorced by three pronouncements"?

The majority of scholars hold that a conditional divorce takes effect upon the fulfillment of the condition, and according to the number of times the husband swore. Therefore, the only way to prevent the divorce from occurring is for the wife not to go to her family's house; otherwise, a triple divorce will take place. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that an expiation for an oath is due if the husband did not intend divorce but rather a threat, and if he intended divorce, then one revocable divorce takes effect. He also held that it is permissible to retract the condition if divorce was intended and not merely an oath. The relied-upon opinion is that of the majority regarding the occurrence of divorce upon breach of the condition and the impossibility of retracting the condition.
