How can the Prophet (peace be upon him) not know what his Companions innovated after him, despite the عرض (presentation/display) of his Ummah's deeds to him in his grave?

The hadith about deeds being presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after his death is weak through all its chains of transmission. The reasons cited for its weakness include the singularity of some of its narrators and their unreliability, as well as its contradiction with authentic hadiths that state the Prophet did not know what his companions innovated after him. Even if we assume the hadith is authentic, it can be reconciled with other hadiths by understanding that this presentation is specific to the deeds of monotheists, or that it is a general presentation, not a detailed one.
