To what extent is the authenticity of the Hadith Qudsi: "Allah revealed to David (peace be upon him): 'The servant will come on the Day of Resurrection with a good deed, and I will make him rule thereby in Paradise.' David said: 'O Lord, who is this servant?' He said: 'A believer who strives for his believing brother in his need, loving its fulfillment, whether it is fulfilled through his hands or not'?"

The aforementioned Hadith has a weak chain of narration (sanad). Al-Khatib reported it in Tarikh Baghdad from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). Al-Khatib said concerning its chain of narration: "Abbas al-Kulawdhani is not trustworthy, and his shaykh, from whom he narrated to us, is unknown." Al-Muttaqi also reported it in Kanz al-Ummal and said: "It is infirm (wahin)."

However, the virtue of striving to fulfill the needs of Muslims is attested to by authentic Ahadith, among them is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He does not wrong him nor does he hand him over [to an enemy]. And whoever is in the need of his brother, Allah will be in his need." And his saying: "Whoever relieves a believer of a distress from the distresses of this world, Allah will relieve him of a distress from the distresses of the Day of Resurrection." And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): "The most beloved people to Allah the Almighty are those who are most beneficial to people. And the most beloved deeds to Allah the Almighty are a joy that you bring to a Muslim, or a distress that you relieve from him, or a debt that you pay off for him."
