Is it permissible to eat from the fruit of a neighbor's tree whose branches are hanging into our house without their permission, and would the sin be removed by informing them after eating?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to take the property of his Muslim brother except with his consent or out of necessity. An exception to this is eating from a garden wall or drinking the milk of livestock after calling out to its owner three times. Based on this, it is not permissible to eat from the fruits of a neighbor's overhanging trees except with his permission. Whoever does so must seek the neighbor's forgiveness or compensate him for what he consumed. If the branches cause harm, the affected party has the right to request their removal, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There shall be no harm nor reciprocating harm."
