The answer

The fundamental principle concerning a woman's work is that it should be in a place where men and women do not intermingle. However, if a woman is compelled to work in a place where she interacts with men, she must adhere to the regulations of Islamic law. Thus, she should avoid seclusion (khalwa) and suspicious mixing, and limit her interactions with men to what is necessary, while lowering her gaze. There is no harm in admiring a righteous young man, provided one does not dwell excessively on thoughts of him. It is permissible to supplicate for him to be a husband, and to offer marriage to him according to Islamic guidelines. If he does not propose marriage, then she must divert her heart from him and avoid temptation.
